People who dare to imagine and dream can change the world.
Everything great starts with an outlandish thought, from the books in the library to the smartphone in your hand. All products, customs, and improvements start as a minuscule idea. The ideas of one person can inspire others in ways they never imagined.
My outlandish moment came as I sat in a hospital trying to encourage my son. Unexpectedly, he encouraged me to stretch outside my comfort zone to share my craft with others. A chat about comics, anime, and my personal short stories led me to this moment.
My journey to completing my first novel was full of ebbs and flows. While writing, I spent many hours getting familiar with the publishing industry and the process. After speaking with consultants and prospective agents, I received many words of encouragement and feedback.
One theme that comes up often is: “You may want to make at least one of the main characters a girl.”
I am a proud "boy mom"! The protagonists in my debut novel are loosely based on my sons. They are my inspiration, my think tank, and my beta readers. I love the representation that women are receiving, but we cannot forget about our young men. I decided to capture the story I wanted and hope it is well received.
As a mother, provider, and writer, I have lost many hours of sleep and gained a few extra pounds. It was all worth it because I created a product I am proud to share with the world. And it's only the beginning.
My debut novel is coming soon. I hope you enjoy it!
